The story
From frustrated host to optimisation tool.
HostRev started when our founder, a host in the Netherlands, compared two near-identical apartments in the same neighbourhood — same square metres, same amenities, same price band. One was fully booked. The other ran at 41% occupancy.
The difference was not the property. It was the way the listing spoke. Sharper photos. A title that named who it was for. A description that led with a guest benefit instead of a feature list.
Hiring a professional photographer for every property costs €400-800 per listing and takes weeks to schedule. Rewriting listings by hand takes hours. Most hosts simply do not — which is why median listings sit at median bookings.
We spent six months testing the best AI image and language models against the playbooks of the industry's leading short-term-rental experts, Airbnb's own best practices, and real data from thousands of live listings, refined by years of hands-on experience managing rentals and multiple specialist courses.
